Just for fun I thought I’d check and see what vehicles you all would drive if you were given the following criteria:
Must run on regular gas (lowest octane of petrol at any station). *Company pays for gas up to 2 fill ups a day at a limit of $75 per fill.*
Annual mileage roughly 45,000 miles (72,420 km).
Receive a $450 monthly stipend for using the vehicle (in addition to regular salaried weekly paychecks).
What would you buy?
If you want to take this up one more notch:
You live in an apartment complex.
Frequently move bulk items and cases.
Entire territory is in a High Desert climate, so rain and snow are rare, and air is dry. Annual average temperature ranges from 10°F to 100°F (-12°C to 38°C). Altitude range from 5,000 ft to 7,500 ft (1.5 km to 2.3 km).
A few may know what I grabbed and what it replaced. But I want to know what would YOU choose?

Fuel is expensive in Europe. Nuff said.
Built in a country with plenty of deserts and lacking in rain let alone snow.
We all live in flats anyway
A Spanish hot hatch (estate) is in order I think.

I was going to say that since I live at high altitudes in this scenario, I’d go with a Jaguar XF for $29/month after the stipend and just eat mileage overage charge.
Then I found out that Jaguar leases have really crazy limits. 30k over a 36 month lease at $0.30/mile. So, in this scenario, that would be $31,500 owed at the end of the lease.

Without doubt a Skoda Octavia Mk3 vRS estate. Available in both manual and automatic and both petrol and diesel.
Relatively small (certainly small by U.S. Standards) footprint, large cargo space, sporty but civilised when you need it to be and a great daily driver.

A Ford SVT Lightning? Dodge Ram SRT? :P
I was thinking of cars until I read wide temp changes and all that.

I went for the Seat purely for the hot climates part otherwise I would of saved the money and gone for the Octavia. Well that and I love the orange wheels.

Probably a diesel f250, 4 door with the 6.7 diesel, like the work truck I used to use. There’s a lot of room in it, for example an exhausted field engineer to sleep in the back on hour long drive back to the man camp. It’s not bad at all on the highway, and they eat up miles. We were putting about 1000 miles on this every week. Plus it's got like a 35+ gallon fuel tank, with diesel at its current price you could fill that bad boy up. Also, I didn't modify it like that, a supervisor who didn't work there anymore did that.

Honestly, what I have now. First gen Colorado LT with the 5.3V8. Under your conditions, not only are expenses covered, I would actually be making more profit.
I enjoy driving it.
It’s pretty quick.
It’s dead reliable.
It’s pretty comfortable.
It’s small, so that covers the apartment.
It’s a pickup, that covers the moving stuff part.
The only thing I’d change, since it’s a dry climate, is I’d go for the ZQ8 Crew Cab which is 2wd instead of the Z85 Crew Cab 4wd.

if you only got the opportunity to destroy ONE car in your lifetime, it should at least be something cool. LIKEWISE as long as you are going to be stuck driving something for work, it might as well be entertaining. everywhere you went would be an adventure.

Simple Criteria: Cadillac CTS 3.6 V6 ( no, really the NA V6 takes regular! )
Take it Up a Notch: Tacoma V6
If I gotta haul shit, the Tacoma is ready to haul shit.

$450 a month only comes to 5400 a year. with 45k a year the vehicle is going to be toast in 4-5 years. i’d go as cheap as possible.

I’d stick with a Charger R/T on the basic criteria. Reasonably priced, fun to drive, great highway cruiser, and while mid-grade is recommended, runs fine on regular. I’m a little biased though. For taking it up a notch, I’d consider a RWD Durango or Grand Cherokee, since AWD isn’t necessary, or maybe a new Mazda CX-9.

Ford Flex. Used if needed for the comfort features.
Why? One of the quietest vehicles I have ever driven. Decent reliability and it can move a small apartment when called upon to do so.
